Mr. J. F. Lott,
c/o Ansonia Clock Company.
7th Ave. and 12th St.,
Brooklyn, N.Y.
Dear Mr. Lott:
I had a very pleasant interview with Mr. White, who very
kindly consented to your appearence as a witness in our behalf in the suits
which are called on Wednesday of this week in Newark.
As explained to you there is a possibility that we may not
require your services, but in cage we do we shall 'phone you and give
specific directions as to the location of the trial, and when we would like
to have you appear. Your appearance would certainly not be before
Thursday noon, and probably on Friday.
The follewing are the points which we hope to establish by you:
1. That you have had experience in the purchase of luminous
material, as well as in charge of your application department.
2. That you bought luminous material from the General Radium
Company of 149 Broadway,N.Y That the General Radium Company never
informed you of any possible dangers in the handling or application of
luminous material to watch and clock dials.
3. That the first knowledge of any possible danger you had
was either through the press in May or June of 1925, or throumh the U. 3.
Radium Corperation, who informed you of possible dangers at about this date.
4. That the U. S. Radium Corporation remested the Ansonia
Clock Company to permit Dr. Frederick B. Flinn of the College of Physicians
and Surgeons, Columbia University, to make a physical examination of your
empleyees, and that such examination was made.
This is about all that we hope to establish by your testimony,
and it should not take more than a few minutes on the stand.
We wish to thank you for your willingness to help us out in
this instance, and to assure you that the attitude of the Ansonia Clock
Company is much appreciated.
Very truly yours,
Relations
