UNITED STATES RADIUM CORPORATION - THE
LUMINITE CORPORATION v EDNA HUSSMAN

house. Considering the surroundings, location, rate of rental,
took for granted they were people of their own social standing.
Only lived in the house but a short time when they realized the
class of people with whom they were associated. She thinks
they wore the most terrible people she has ever met. Having
signed a lease for one year at $80.00 a month they were power=
less, could do nothing but fulfill their contract. When the
year was up they moved to the present address. Apartment Was
then rented to a Doctor Lee, physician of New York City.
While living in the house with the Hussmans, Elsie
Bolz gave birth to a child out of wedlock, understood the
father Was a prominent young man residing in the Roseville
Avenue section and was associated with some orchestra as
trappist drummer. Learning of hor predicament the family
was greatly shocked. Elsie never took any of them into her
confidenee. In some manner she was able to conceal her true
condition. The first the family Inew of the affair was when
she was about to be confined, they were all preparing to go
away on a vacation trip when Elsie became suddenly ill. Upon
learning the nature of hor illness there Was much excitement
and commotion in the family. Elsie was rushed inmediately to
the Women & Childrens' Hospital, Central Avenue near Tenth
Street, Newark, where she gave birth to a son, whom they call
Junior. Some time later she Was married but not to the father
of the child.
Bolz, the mother, was rather a foxy old soul,
