UNITED STATES RADIUM CORPORATION - THE
LUMINITE CORPORATION V. EDNA HUSSMAN
Report of Elizabeth C. Lewis:
April 26, 1928.
Department of Labor,
9 Franklin Street,
Newark, N. J.
Endeavoring to verify if William Bolz or Louis Hussman
ever instituted claims for phosphorus 02° any chemical poisoning,
called at above office, met it. Weinant, who willingly consented
to search their files but failed to find the name of Hussman or
Bolz listed.
Said he recalled some time ago of there being several
cases filed in the office where employees of the Radium Corpora-
tion had made claim and were endeavoring to recover compensation
due to radium poisoning. One case he vividly recalls was a young
woman who fell down the steps in Bamberger's Department Store,
sustaining an injury to her hip or limb. As a result of the in-
jury she was incapacitated for months with condition gradually
becoming more serious.
After many examinations, ex-rays, etc., the attending
physician diagnosed her case as radium poisoning. Name of this
woman he could not remember but for the desired information re-
ferred me to Bamberger's.
