Telephone conversation, May 17, 1928

TELEPHONE CONVERSATION MAY 17,1928 with Dr. R.B. Moore, Dr. Herman Schlundt and Dr.S.C.Lind. Dr. Moore advised that it would be vory difficult to leave Lafayette, Indiana, on May 22nd, for New York. However, he stated that in the event that the Vice Chancellor was not disposed to take into consideration the difficulties which would be involved in getting our experts to come to New York at this time, he would endeavor to lay aside such matters as are now pressing, and come to New York for our hearing if it is continued on May 23rd. Dr. Lind advised that it would be impossible for him to come to New York during the week of May 21st - for two reasons. The first being that he had arranged to give an address in Chicago on Friday, May 25th, a date which he could not possibly change, and secondly he had formulated such plans that would necessitate his being in Minneapolis the forepart of the week of May 21st. I suggested to Dr. Lind that in the event that we were forced to go to trial on May 23rd, he could possibly leave Minneapolis on the night of May 22nd, ,Tuesday, and arrive in New York Thursday morning, serve as a witness, leave New York Thursday evening and arrive in Chicago early enough Friday afternoon for his appointment Friday evening. Dr. Lind stated that he did not feel that he could work under such a high tention schedule, but that we should wire him in the event that we were forced to trial, and that he would give the matter further consideration. Dr. Schlundt advised that it would be practically impossible for him to come to New York during the week of May 21st, as they would be in the midst of final examinations, which necessarily requires considerable of his attention and direction. However, upon pressure on my part he finally consented to malce further effort to get here in the event that the Vice Chancellor forced us to a continuance of the hearing on May 23rd.
