July 23rd,1928. Dr. Herbert N. McCoy, 2537 Fifth Ave., Los Angeles, Calif. Dear Dr. McCoy: I was certainly glad to receive your letter of June 30th: Yes - the suits were settled, but not in an entirely satisfactory manner, since the question of injury or no injuryhas not as yet been finally settled. The only bright spot in the whole arrangement is the provision for a Committee of three eminent physicians who are to take charge of the complainants and diagnose their condition and recommend treatment. Unfortunately the physicians selected for this Committee, due to vacation time, will not be able to do active work until about the first of September. Probably by the latter part of the year we will have some fairly definite information as to their reactions to the cases. As regards mesothorium,we have made no further move since talking with you in Chicago. The matter is in abayance until some time in the fall when it can be discussed more fully with the Radium Belge. Just as soon as there is anything definite on this matter we shall certainly communicate with you. Trusting that you are finding southern California quite to your liking, and with best regards to both you and Mrs. MCCoy, I am Very truly yours, CBLee:RH President.
