Sues Radium Firm
for Girl's Death
Suit for $3,750 was filed here yes-
terday against the Radium Dial
Corporation of Ottawa, Ill., by James
Cruse. who charges that his daugh-
ter. Ella, was killed by radium paint
used on luminous dials on watches.
Miss Cruse. her father alleges,
died last September from an infec-
tion contracted while working with
the paint in the corporation's fac-
tory. The case recalls that of the five
girls, employed by the United States
Radium Corporation in New Jersey,
who sued for $1,500,000 when physi-
cians informed them they were hope-
lessly poisoned.
