Dr. Elizabeth Bricker,
Department of Labor & Industry,
Harrisburg, Pa.
Dear Dr.Bricker:
We certainly are glad to cooperate with you in
any way we can regarding any possibledanger arising from
the application of Radio-active Luminous Compounds, and
trust that you will give us the benefit of your experience
in carrying out the investigation which you propse.
The only concerns we supply with Luminous Com-
pound in Pennsylvania are as follows:
Hamilton Watch Company,
Lancaster
U.S. Gauge Company,
Sellersville
Naval Aircraft Factory
Philadelphia Navy Yard
Frankford Argenal,
Philadelphia
T.C.Smith
3947 Powelton Ave. Philadelphia.
The Hamilton Watch Company is the only concern using Luminous
material in reasonable quantity. The others use small quantities
and we believe that T. C. Smith only uses material in the
filling of glass balls, which are used for pull chain locators.
We do not use Thorium or Mesothorium in our Luminous
Compound, notwithstanding all the publicity to the contrary.
Some years ago Mesothorium was used in combination with Radium,
but for some time Radium only has been used.
If there is any further service we can be intthis
matter, please feel free to call on us.
Very truly yours,
C.B.Lee. AF.
President.
