Barker United States Radium Corporation 535 Pearl Street New York, New York My dear Howard: I have arranged to keep the week beginning with November 5 free forn any conferences which you may wish to arrange, and have accordingly wired as follows: "Can arrange to participate in measurements November 5 and 6" The week following this is the one in which the meeting of the Missouri College Union occurs and also the meeting of the Missouri State Teachers* Association. At the same time we shall inspect two junior colleges in Kansas City and St. Joseph, and it will be practically impossible for me to come to New York the week of the 12th. I am anxiously awaiting your letter giving some details concerning the results obtained by Dr. Failla. In this connection I recall a phrase which Mr. Miller used at the time we borrowed his Schmidt electroscope for our experiment. I have no doubt that Dr. Flinn also had these words impressed upon his mind. "The electroscope never lies; it may kid you, but it never lies".
