    "ocrText": "October 31,1928.\nDr. Herman Schlundt,\nUniversity of Missouri,\nRoom 110 New Chemistry Bldg.,\nColumbia, Mo.\nDear Dr. Schlundt:\nOn Saturday I discussed the matter of arranging a satisfac-\ntory date for the electroscopic examination of the five girls, with Dr. Craver\nand Dr. Fialla, after which I wired you that the examinations would probably\ntake place during the week of November 19th. This arrangement was made\ncontingent upon discussing the matter with Dr. Ewing on Monday of this week.\nI have now talked with Dr. Craver and he advises that it\nwould be quite satisfactory to Dr. Ewing to have you present. He recommends\nthat the examinations be conducted during the week of November 19th, -\nhowever, he states that if it is absolutely impossible for you to be here\nat that time, he would, of course probably concede to a postponement, but\nfelt that in view of the unfavorable delays that have already taken place\nthat the matter should be carried to a conclusion at the very earliest\npossible moment.\nI quite agree with Dr. Carver's attitude in this matter,\nand while I appreciate that tt would probably be more convenient for you\nto come here during Thanksgiving week, still at the same time this is a\nbad time to undertake any scientific work as it is a holiday period, and a\nnumber of men make plans which would probably interfere with the work.\nAs I understand it Dr. Ewing personally wishes to be\npresent at these tests, and they are going to extend the privilege of a\nguest to be selected by the opposition to be present also.\nThere is an added reason why I believe you might find\nit enjoyable to be here during the week of November 19th, and that is the\nMissouri and New York University football game which takes place in\nNew York City on November 17th. There will undoubtedly be a large\nnumber of Missouri people coming on to New York at that time, and you might\njoin them. Jude & Jess expect to be with us Saturday and Sunday, November\n17th and 18th, and we would most certainly enjoy having you present also.\nI am sure that the Underwoods would be more than pleased to see you too.\nPlease let me hear from you at your earliest convenience\nwith regard to this suggested program.\nSincerely yours,\nHHBarker: :RH\nDictated but not read."
