Attention Mr. Lee.
My dear Mr. Lee:
I see by last night's papers that Dr. von Sochocky
died at his home, 207 Amherst St., East Orange, N. J. Or.Martland
has given the cause of his death as "a mild anemia, approaching the
aplastic type. " Dr. Martland asserts that "deposits of radio-
active matter in the bones of the victim had stilled the action of
the blood supply agencies of the body".
The article in the Sun of last night states
"swen Kjaer, an investigator of the Bureau of Hazards of the
United States Department of Labor, arrived in Orange this morning
from Washington to investigate the cases of the five poisoned girls
and the death of Dr. Lehman.
I suggest that you have Dr. Flynn get in communica-
tion with Mr. Kjaer and ascertain from him just why he is here,
and collaborate with Mr. Kjaer in his investigation and obtain a
copy of his report.
Dr. Flynn might also interview Dr. Martland and
obtain a statement from him, ascertaining if the doctor had x-rays
taken of the body of Dr. von Sochocky, and where they are, and
he might obtain a look at them. Dr. Flynn should also obtain
the record of Dr. Martland, and the hospital record as to the
several tests made of the blood of Dr. von Sochocky and the blood
count.
My idea is that Dr. Flynn could do this better
than anybody else, and he will probably be associated with us in
the defense of the present case.
Yours very truly
