November 15th,1928. The Globe Indemnity Company, file Washington Place, Newark, N.J. Attention Mr. W, H. Galentine Gentlemen: Congleton, Stallman & Hoover of810 Broad Street,Newark, N.J., wrote us under date of November 3rd, that they had been retain- ed by a Mrs. Metz and Mrs. Tuft to make claim against us for injuries received by these two ladies during their employment by us. We asked them to give us more information, and we had a further letter on November 9th, which gave us the maiden names of the two women, also the approximate dates of their employment, and some general informa- tion regarding their present disability. It is apparently their intention not to institute suit if a satisfactory settlement can be made. Ne are now checking our records which are none too complete for the dates of their employment, and find that Miss Peer (maiden name) was employed on May ,1916, and according to her attorneys left our employ during the fall of 1918. We find that Miss Phillips (maiden name) was employed by us on May 28,1917, and according to her attorneys quit work some time during 1921. While we have found the beginning of their employment we have not yet been able to check the dates which they left. The first compensation and liability policy carried by us in New Jersey was with the Globe Indemnity Company from November 4, 1916 to November 4, 1917. The New Amsterdam Casualty Company issued policies covering the yearSfrom the fall of 1917 to 1919, and the Aetna Insurance Company issued policies from the fall of 1919 to 1920. Therefore as regards these two possible claims each of the three above mentioned Insurance Companies carried the insurance for a portion of the time, and there was a period of time during the employment of Miss Peer when we had no insurance. At the present we have one suit which has been instituted against us through Potter & Berry of Newark, on behalf of Mrs. Canfield and her husband. Edwards & Smith of Jersey City on behalf of the New Amsterdan Casualty Company, and Collins and Corbin of Jersey City on behalf of the Globe Indemnity Company, are the attorneys of record in this claim. case. It is our intention to have a conference on Monday, 19th of November, with lfr. Markley of Collins & Corbin and Mr. Smith of Edwards
