November 26th, 1928. Dr. Herman Schlundt, University of Missouri, Columbie, Mo. Dear Dr. Schlundt: Your notes enroute to St. Louis, were both received very promptly, one on Saturday and the other this morning. I have today written Dr. Failla suggesting that he endeavor to obtain either Mrs. Heves original data or a transcript of some through the Committes. I hope that Dr. Feilla will appreciate the value of this data and endeavor to interest Dr. Ewing in obtaining same. It seens to ne that about the only way we would be able to inspect this data would be for the Committee to request same, and then extend to us the privilege of inspection. During our conference on Friday afternoon Dr. Failla made one su gestion which has come back to me repeatedly, and that is whethor OT not we have sufficient data to ascribe to the Wulf alectrometer a calibration value. As I recall our work all data seems to point that at least the order of magnitude of our constant is correct, but whether or not we should not verify ourselves regarding this point I am not so certain. While I suggested that wo had made tests with radium in a cylinder of solution, still you will recall and Dr. Flinn made these tests, and I don't know as I have ever seen the data on this point. Your knowledge of this particular phase of the work should help to substantiate the constant which we are using. During the next day or so I hope to go over the data on the Dunn case, and make certain that our value is correct. We had a very pleasant day at West Point on Saturday, and saw one of the best foot-ball games that I have seen in this part of the country. Even though the Arny defeated Nebraska by a score of 13 to 3, the score should have been 6 to 3, which would have been a more correct rep- resentation of the competitive merits of the two teams. Sincerely yours, Vice President
