I an trying to ask you to tell us what - to describe in plain language to us what this shadow that you can see shows. A. The x-ray shows a degeneration of the joint. Q. That is the bone. A. Yes, sirs degeneration of the joint. Q. That is necrosis. A. That is necrosis. Q. In other words, that is rotting of the bone. A. Retting of the bone. Q. What else does it show? A. This white shadow. Q. Is that the white shadow? A. No.; that is a different thing. Q. Then the white shadow is not the necrosis. 4. I would like to show it to you. THE COURT: I think it is clear to no. I don't know whether it is to you. MR. MARKLEX: I think I understand the doctor. + Q. In other words, you say the white shadow is the radio-activity that you see, is it. A. Yes, sir. Q. What is it that indicates the necrosis? A. The degeneration of the bone. Q. How does that demonstrate itself in the picture to your sight? What do you see that shows it? A. Wall, usually dark shadows. Q. In other words, black shadows show necrosis and a white shadow shove the radioactivity, is that it? A. That is it. Q. Foreign substance that you see in this picture when you see this white shadow? A. Well, it is my opinion it is the reflection of the redium on the plate; it is the effect of the x-ray on that radium, on the plate, that causes that shadow."
