DEPARTMENT OF PATHOLOGY FEB 4 1929 CORNELL UNIVERSITY MEDICAL COLLEGE FIRST AVENUE AND 28TH STREET NEW YORK CITY February 1, 1929. Mr. L. F. Barker, U. S. Radium Corp., 535 Pearl street, New York City. My dear Mr. Barker: In the case of Mrs. Larice, the dentist finds it necessary to make a double set of plates which will cost between $500 and $600. Mrs. Larice lost all her teeth and necrosis has destroyed much of the alveolar borders, so that a rather difficult piece of dental work is necessary to enable her to masticate. We do not wish to authorize this expense without your approval. In the case of Mrs. Edna Hausman, 50 Buchanan Street, Street, Hillside, N.J., we have a request for $76.00 for medicines over a period of 30 weeks. $2.00 a week for tonic and $10.00 for aspirin. While the Commission feels that the tonic bills are rather expensive, I think on the whole we had better pay this bill and allow me to caution Mrs. Hausman about the excessive use of tonics and aspirin. Sincerely yours, January James Ewing.
