Mr. H. H. Barker
United States Rgdium Corporation
535 Pearl Street
New York, New York
My dear Howard:
We are enclosing herewith a copy of the re-
port which is going forward today to Messrs. Edwards & Smith.
If you have any suggestions for changes in this report, please
be kind enough to favor us with them.
I have just about caught up by this time
upon back work which accumulated during the two weeks that I
was away. I have also given my classes a mid-semester exami-
nation and I am pleased to report that the blue books have all
been graded. Moreover, I did all the grading myself. I am
thus ready to engage in a new battle, but this time I am re-
minded that the samples of residue which Dr. Turner forwarded
have not yet been touched. I am awaiting directions from the
Commission.
Please tell Mrs. Barker that I saw her
friend, Mrs. Hetzler, at a picture show the other evening and I
took the liberty to extend to her Mrs. Barker's good wishes and
congratulations.
We had a visit from Mr. Skjer yesterday and
I learned more about the history of radium poisoning cases in the
four or five hours which he spent in my office than I have heard
in all the years before. He seems to be an encyclopedia of
knowledge on fatalities from radium poisoning. We received no
suggestions from him about improving our experimental condi-
tions, nor did he consider that we had any suspicious cases.
Wishing you well, I remain
Sincerely yours,
Herman Schlundt
