DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY
APR 1929

Mr. H. H. Barker
United States Radium Corporation
535 Pearl Street
New York, N. Y.
My dear Howard:
I have been away all of the past week, but upon my
return I find your letter advising that you are sending twenty
1 microgram ampoules and ten 2 microgram ampoules. I think that
this amount is quite sufficient to standardize the gamma instru-
ments and I hope that Dr. Flinn will find time to make a cali-
bration at an early date.
I am bearing in mind that youtstill have $60 coming
from me, but up to date I have not received any remittance of any
kind from either Mr. Markley or Mr. Smith and the United States
Government like wise is slow in making remittance. But I assure
you that as soon as I get a check from the lawyers I shall send
another statement of our account to Messrs. Markley and Smith.
The Board of Curators has now taken final action on
the case of Prof. Meyer and Prof. DeGraff. The latter was dismissed,
but Meyer was suspended for a year without pay. Whether the University
of Missouri will hereafter be recognized by sister universities as
a standard modern institution remains to be seen.
With very kind regards, I remain
Very truly yours,
Herman Schlundt
