DEPARTMENT OF PATHOLOGY CORNELL UNIVERSITY MEDICAL COLLEGE MAY 8 1929 FIRST AVENUE AND 28th STREET NEW YORK May 7, 1929. Mr. H.H. Barker, U.S. Radium Corporati on, 535 Pearl Street, New York City. My dear Mr. Barker: I encl ose a letter from Dr. Krumbhaar on which we should be pleased to have your opinion. I will not answer this letter until I hear from you. At the Memorial Hospital we are disinclined to issue any formal report. First, because the data is not yet complete. Second, because we do not want to be involved in other suits. At the same time, I do not see how any great harm would be done if we issued a statement properly qualif- ied, of the results obtained to date. You will see that Berry frankly admits the object of obtaining this report. The whole situation is becoming more and more complex and distasteful to any group of physicians. Therefore, I feel inclined to urge on Krumbhaar and Berry the settlement which you suggested to Dr. Craver. Please return Dr. Krumbhaar's letter. Sincerely yours James Ewi ng.
