June 7th,1929. Dr. Herman Schlundt, University of Missouri, Columbia, No. Dear Dr. Schlundt: Your letter of May 22nd, enclosing report of your investigations, as woll as your letter of May 27th, enclosing corrections, aero received. We have made the corrections mentioned and expect to submit copies of this report to the Committes today. I Lelayed attonding to this matter on account of having to serve on the Jury in Essex county for the past two weeks. Your report is very comprehensive and, I am confident that the Committee will be pleased to have same. Ne had a conference yesterday with the Insurance Companies, relative to current bills for professional services, etc., rendered on account of the pending litigation, and while the conclusions arrived at were not definite, still I believe progress was nade and payment should be forthcoming in the near future. The representative of one of the Insurance Companies mentioned the fact that you were anxious for your money in view of the fact that you were contemplating a trip to Europe or some such place this summer. In this instance I am sorry that you have been caused any inconvenience and, we would be pleased to advance you any moneys, which you may have due you, on account of your trip east, and at such time as you are paid, you in turn will reimburse us. Please do not hesitate to accept this offer for we would be more than glad to aid you. As we have previously told you we prefer to have the Insurance Company pay for these services directly, rather than our paying them and then being confront- ed with the matter of collection. I think you understand and appreciate our viewpoint in this connection. Our plans for sailing on June 29th, are developing and, unless something unforseen shows up in the next two weeks we probably will get away. Sincerely yours, Vice President. HHBarker:RH
