DEPARTMENT OF PATHOLOGY CORNELL UNIVERSITY MEDICAL COLLEGE JUN 271929 FIRST AVENUE AND 28TH STREET NEW YORK June 24, 1929. U. S. Rad ium Corporation and Mr. Raymond Berry. Dear Sirs: We wish to inform you of the results of the work of the Commission appointed to take charge of the five women who are supposed to be suffering from radium poisoning. (Freyer, MacDonald, Schaub, Larice, Hussman). This Commission was appointed in accordance with an agreement reached between the U.S. Radium Corporation and Mr. Raymond Berry, representing the women. 1. We find that all the women are radioactive. 2. We believe that they are all suffering from the effects of radioactive substances. 3. The data obtained do not positively prove, with absolute certainty that their present condition is the result of the effects of radioactive substances. 4. At present there are no indications that the Commission may order the discontinuance of the annuities in the near future. 5. Dr. Craver and Dr. Ewing hold that the information given in this statement is confidential, having been obtained in the course of our relations, as patient and physician, and that any sort of publicity what- soever connected with it is prejudicial to the interests of our patients. b 6. Dr. Krumbhaar holds that improper pulicity connected with the statement is prejudicial to the interests of our patients, but he reserves the right to use the information according to his judgment. By the Commission. EB/Grumbhaar Dr. E. B. Krumbhaar. Dr. Lloyd F. Craver Lloyd F.Gaver Dr. James Ewing. Jawa Eveny
