Dr. Frederick B. Flinn,
College of Physicians & Surgeons,
Columbia University,
New York City, N. Y.
Dear Dr. Flinn:
In a recent letter from Mr. Barker, he speaks of some
points of criticisms which you have suggested, with
reference to the paper on the elimination of radium
from living persons. I have given some consideration
to this matter, and wish to make a few suggestions which
I hope may help in making an adjustment for publication.
Perhaps you may feel that the time has not come for pub-
lishing these results, and that you would like to secure
further experimental data on subjects which are access-
ible to you in New York City. It, therefore, seems to
me that it may be of mutual advantage to us to publish
our results independently, instead of jointly, I sim-
ply wish to add that such a plan is entirely agreeable
to me, and I hope that you will be good enough to tell
me just how you feel about the matter, for I wish to
maintain the same spirit of friendliness and frankness
which has prevailed in all our investigations.
It is, of course, a little unfortunate that you, Mr.
Barket, and myself cannot have & little conference
about this matter, but I hope that we can come to a
conclusion by simple correspondence.
With very good wishes, I remain
Sincerely yours,
HS:RA
Herman Schlundt
