Dr. Ernst C. Pohle,
c/o Wisconsin General Hospital,
Madison, Wis.
Dear Dr. Pohle:
I am herewith sending you a rather comprehensive list of
questions covering the field upon which our attorneys hope to examine you
and your collaborators on February 24th.
It is quite possible that some of these questions you will
be unable to answer to your own satisfaction, but we will be glad to have
you look them over and indicate to us such questions as you are qualified
to answer, and the nature of the answers which you would feel justified in
giving. In order that you may do this we are sending you two copies of
these questions - one to be returned to us and the other to be retained by
you for your reference.
While we appreciate that the time is short, still we are
very much in hopes that you will have an opportunity to return one set of
these questions, with your reaction to same, in the stamped addressed
envelope herewith enclosed, so that it may reach me by Saturday February
22nd.
In the questionnaire you will note that we have referred
to a number of articles, and I wish to call your attention to the fact that
all articles referred to will be found in the compendium of articles which
was mailed to you. We hope that you will bring this book with you to
Chicago, so that it may be returned to us at that time, as well as the
duplicate set of questions that you retain so that in the event that the
ones returned to us are not received we will have your reactions to these
questions at that time.
Messrs Smith and Markley, our attorneys, and I will arrive
in Chicago, Monday morning February 24th, and will be registered at the
Palmer House around 9:30 o'clock. We would like to have a preliminary
conference with you and your collaborators at the Hotel at 10 o'clock.
The depositions will be taken at one (1) o'clock in the afternoon at the
offices of Messrs Fallambee, Shorey and Schupp, 137 S. LaSalle St., before
Morris Cohen a Notary sitting as a. Commissioner especially appointed for
this purpose.
Anticipating seeing you on Monday morning, I remain
Sincerely yours,
HHBarker:RH
Vice President.
