Letters Sent to Dr. Herman Schlundt, March 24, 1930

March 24th,1930. Dr. Herman Schlundt, Hotel St. George, B'klyn, N.Y. Dear Dr. Schlundt: Due to the fact that the attorneys for the plaintiffs Mrs. llets and Mrs. Tuck, seem disposed to subpoena our witnesses, due largely to the lack of any witness of their own, we thought it best to avoid having you subpoenaed by keeping you oui of the picture until the proper time. The cases start tomorrow morning at 10:30, and we shall be in court until 4 or 4:30, but I will endeavor to communicate with you by *phone between 4:30 and 6 *clock at the Hotel St. George. We had every hope in the World of settling these cases up until this norning, but apparently they are going to trial. We have been extremely busy attending to these matters, and as usual many things are still undone that should have been attended to. In this connection I hope that you have had a little time or will have upon your arrival in New York to prepare for us a list of questions which may be asked you upon the stand. I am herewith sending you a copy of the questions which I drafted at the time we were in the Court of Chancery, and while many of these questions are not applicable still they may offer some suggestions. I have felt 30 confident that these cases would be settled that up to the present time we have not proceeded with the prepara- tion of sketches which we discussed at our conference in January 17th, which will be used to illustrate to the Court and Jury the extremely minute amounts of radiug which our paint contains. It will probably be necessary for you to remain out of sight on Wednesday, and I any turn over a draftsman for you to direct in preparing these sketches, on that day provided this meets with your approval. I will discuss this subject with you tomorrow afternoon or evening. Dr. Moore is available and will arrive in New York on Thursday morning. Had a wire from Lind this morning stating that it will be impossible for him to be in New York this week. Dr. Failla is available in case we desire his services.
