Krs. Finaghes seens rather determined in her idaas, but is apparently a
very clear and straightforward thinker. She did not feol that ahe would be
morally justified in becoming associated with us in any of this work, for she
felt that she might be criticised by the opposition for coning over to our
side. Howevor, we explained to her that wo folt that she was not justified
in feeling that way for aftor all we had as nuch right to enlist her services
as well as anyone else, and that we would be gind to have her assist in any
work that might arise whereby we could make use of her servicos relative to
making radioactive testa on these girls or any other case that might come to
our attention. lirs. Highes stated that she vould be glad to give the matter
further thought, and that she would comminicate further with us. She gave us
a number of points relative to the recent action which were of interest, but
not of major importance at this tite. She apparently is #fed up"
with the legal profession and their nethods of handling experts. Perhapa it
might be just as well is she remains in this frome of sind.
The fact that Nrs. Hughes advised us that Teek's had enlisted her
services confires our belief that they are going to do everything possible to
have lirs. Tuok and Netz exasined for the presence of rediosetive naterials
prior to April 22nd.
For the present I havo no knowledge of anyone in
the Netropolitan ares to whon they can go for this work. lis. Hughes had no
one to suggest, and stated that she hnd no idea of whother or not they had
succeaded in obtaining anyone to do this. lis. Highea stated that ahe used
Dr. Schocky's instrument in the tests that she unde and that this instrument
was now in the possession of Dr. Martland.
Very truly yours,
Vice President.
