my dear Howard
your Air Mail letter bearing the postmark of 7 pm. Friday
the th was delivered at my house about 9 o'cluck last
night- This is the best time the Air Mail route has ever
made. het's see what time this note will make
These absolutely contradictory results have ours negative -
and yours handsorvely radioative a convinced me th at there
is a miggerin the fence somewhere. The are is probably a
silicate a bosalt dike intrusion which resists action
of acids. It is not the type of are which carries uranium
Inthe everse of our tests we ran across some obser-
vations that indicated the radioactive
tered over the surface of the specimens. ch lump form the
opecimens of Claim 4, were fully 10 times as active
as the same material fail tested in pulverized form.
Claims / - X and I and Claims 2 A - sB
were inactive within the limits of ascuracy of
our instaument
livere d to-day or early in the morning. (Monday)
Our samples are on the way, and should be cle-
mechall be interested as to the out asa come of the
matter. This type of are does not look, likely source
of radium.
Sincerely yours
Herman Schlundt
Has mr Lee currived in New york? He should
have stopped over here with another collection of
samples for tests.
