Dr. James H. Brothers,
128 Broad Street,
Newark, N. J.
Dear Dr. Brothers:
Herewith copy of letter from Mr. Barker,
Vice President of the United States Radium Corporation, in
regard to physical examination of Mrs. Hoare and Mrs. Henry
on June 16th or 17th. I em requesting Mr. Barker to get
in touch with you direct whenever the final date is fixed.
You will note that these examinations are to
take place at the offices of Dr. F. B. Flinn, College of
Physicians & Surgeons, 632 W. 168th Street, New York City.
Dr. Flinn is not representing us in this, but is acting on
behalf of the girls. Therefore we are compelled to go to
New York, as heretofore stated verbally to you.
I am anxious for you to get as much history
of these two women as possible. I suggest you take an expert
stenographer with you who can write down a detailed history
as you get it on examination. You should ascertain how long
they have been suffering. This is important from the standpoint
of the statute of limitations. You should also ascertain what
their various sufferings consisted of and the nature and extent
of the injuries complained of in the beginning. You should
also ascertain the names and addresses of all the doctors and
dentists who have treated them after they left our employ. We
can then check up on their histories and ascertain whether
they are accurate. You should also ascertain the dates of
marriages and number of children each has had, whether they
worked after they left our place and how long they worked for
us; whether their work was continuous or periodic. or course,
you need not be limited to these suggestions. Anything you
think would be helpful in the way of history should be obtained.
Yours very truly,
EAM: AG
E. A. MARKLEY
