Attention of Mr. C. B. Lee, President.
Dear Mr. Lee:
In re: Mrs. Ruth Saxer.
We have your letter of September 9th, which for some reason
has not been acknowledged.
We have had an opportunity to go over the testimony taken
by Mr. Markley, and it appears that this girl worked in
some of the Departments for apparently three months before
she went into the dial painting department.
Her testimony was that she started in the fall of 1917, and
that she did a little packing to start with, and a little
inspecting, and the rest painting numbers. Later on she said
that she did some packing for a couple of months and inspect-
ing for a month or so. If your records of either the
Inspection Department or the Packing Department would throw
any light on the exact period of employment in either or both
of these Departments, it would be of material assistance to
us. If you have no objection, will you kindly let us have
this information.
An article in the newspapers the other day, with reference to
the death of a Mrs. Stasi, stated that Dr. Martland had a list
of girls that he suspected had been affected by this substance.
Have you any knowledge of any such list, and if so, would it
be possible for us to obtain it?
With kindest regards, I remain
Very truly yours,
Attorney. Cuy
