UNIVERSITY OF missouri COLUMBIA October 2, 1930 OCT 6 1930 DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY Mr. H. H. Barker United States Radium Corporation 535 Pearl Street New York City, New York My dear Barker: I am enclosing a print made from the negative obtained by exposing for fifty-two days, two specimens of bone obtained from Dr. Ewing last spring. These bone speci- mens were from Mrs. MacDonald. One is a section of the humerus and the other of a vertebra. It seems to me that if these photographs are at all reliable, the radium content of the vertebra greatly exceeds that of the humerus. The photo- graphic effect harmonizes with the radium determinations by the emanation method which I made last summer. It was found that the radium content of the vertebra was about twice that of the humerus, weight for weight. With good wishes, I remain, Sincerely yours, Herman Schlundt Herman Schlundt HS:AS Bone Specimens, hers me D. Vertebra - Humeres Eak posure- - 52 days
