Mr. Philip English,
c/o New Haven Clock Co.,
New Haven, Conn.
Dear Mr. English:
Dudley Ingraham and myself have had considerable
conversation in reference to the methods employed by Mr. Knowles
in his endeavors to determine the situation as regards radio-
activity in various girls.
Dr. Flinn in his Reports to both Ingraham and
Waterbury does not approve at all of Mr. Knowles findings, and
Dudley Ingraham and myself feel quite strongly that an outside
authority approved by the three of us should be called in as a
sort of umpire.
He also feels that one of the three of us should
go to Washington with Dr. Flinn to present our views to Dr.Thompson
or Dr. Cummings. The expense in connection therewith would be
apportioned among the three Companies.
To all of this we have readily assented providing
Dr. Flinn thinks it advisable.
I don't presume that any of us are particularly
anxious to see Washington just now, but possibly for the good of
the industry some sacrifice might be warranted.
Personally I must be in Philadelphia on
Saturday, November 8th, and would not particularly object to
going to Washington the day before, but if this date would not be
agreeable I don't know that I would want to make a special trip
down there right away. However, we can toss up for it if Dr. Flinn
thinks that it might he the proper thing to do.
Very truly yours,
Vice President.
