TREASURY DEPARTMENT
Bureau of
The Public Health Service
Washington, D.C.
October 11,1930.
Mr. C. H. Granger;
Vice President,
Waterbury Clock Co.,
Waterbury, Conn.
Dear Mr. Granger:
I am glad to have your letter of the 9th, instant.
I believe that we are nearly to a point where it will be possible
to show you the results which we have obtained. The final analysis
is being completed, and it is hoped very soon to have the bulletin
in final typewritten form. At that time a copy will be sent you,
and we will appreciate suggestions before the report is sent to the
printer.
With respect to the recent check-up, which
Dr. Flinn and lr. Knowles made, we really feel that in general the
agreement was as close as could be expected, in view of the small
amounts of radium being measured. So far as a report for publication
goes, we are, of course, not concerned with the question as to
whether a particular girl is or is not radioactive; we are rather
interested in whether the group of girls as a whole , especially
those employed only under existing conditions, show an indication of
radium poisoning.
Yours very truly,
L.R.Thompson
Asst. Surgeon General.
