Re: Mrs. Anna Stasi vs.
U.S.Radium Corp.
Gentlemen:
We are herewith enclosing copy of a letter received
from Arthur DeVincentis, which is quite self explanatory.
In response to this letter I made an appointment to
see Er. DeVincentis on Saturday morning, November 1st.
Rr. DeVincentis had with him B Mr. Hanlon, who apparent-
ly is associated with this case. Both Mr. Hanlon and Mr. DeVincentis
were advised that the conference was without projudice to either
side, and in no way could be considered as an admission of liability
on our part, but a meeting to ascertain sore of the facts in the case,
and what they had in mind.
It developed that Mrs. Stasi had been contributing to the
earnings of the family, but where or when she was employed or what
she earned, her counsel did not know - neither did they have complete
information at hand relative to other pertinent facts in the case.
They did, however, state that their asking price in this case was
$15,000, indicating that they would probably settle for a much sealler
sum. At the close of the conference they agreed to supply us with
complete information relative to the facts in this case, particularly
regarding where Mrs. Stasi had been employed, and the amount she
serned - also how long she had been suffering, as well as medical
attention which she had received and expense of same.
As soon as we have this information I shall pass it on to
you, and it would probably be advisable for us to have a conference
to discuss the possibility of settling the case without court action.
Very truly yours,
HHBarker:RH
Vice President.
