OCT 271930 COPY 1233 Oread Lawrence, Kansas Dr. Dr. Schlundt: This morning I called Visual Education with reference to the "Canti Film". This film was made at St. Bartholamews Hospital in London by Dr. Canti. It depicts the growth of fibroblasts of sarcomatous tissue and is cer- tainly the most extravagant reach of histological procedure I can conceive of. I suspect you have already seen it at Columbia. I merely remarked what I did in the supposition that you may not have been in Columbia when it was shown. I asked Visual Education which is a branch of the Extension Division to write to you about it. The girl who answered may have gotten things straight. You can never tell. As I remarked at the time, Dr. Ferdinand Hillig, Pathologist to St. Lukes Hospital in Kansas City, is most qualified to discuss the film during showing because he has already done so several times. The film is 35 mm reprint, and shows the re- sults of radiation in a striking fashion. I send my highest regards to you and to your colleagues at Columbia. Sincerely yours, (Signed) James C. Rice. After reading your note again I was impelled to letter the name, THE CANTI FILM. It deals with tissue cultures both of malignant and non-malignant cells. If there is any hitch just authorize me to take care of renting the film. The fee is nominal but I do not know the dates,
