Re: Stasi vs United States Redium Corp. Gontlenen: You will recoll thet at the confurence hold at the offico of Bmory on Decembor 16th,1930, which was put to record form by letter written by Re. lorkley, of Co lins a Corbin, on Decomber 18tb,1930, and addressed to the various conpanies represented, we brought to your atten- tion the fact that the estate of Stasi bed approsched us regarding effecting a sottlement for the death of Stmai resulting from radium poisoning. The estate aubstantiates thoir clain by a death certifieste signod by Berrison Martland, l'edical Exceuinor for County, attributing the cause of death to exposure to an industrial hazard - nazely, radium poisoning. Te have been negotiating with the represontatives of Urs. Stasi'a estate for some little time, and have finally gotten a definite connital from tham that they will relesse us from all future cleins, etc. for the oue of $3000.00. It is our beliof that this is a ressonable figuro and the case should be cleened up for such an asount. l's. Stasi wos employed by the United States Redius Corporation, according to the claims of the estate, from August 1,1916 to February 1,1920. Suit has never been filed in behalf of this compleinent, and in vieu of the diacuscion occurring at Emory's office on Dec. 16,1950, it is our understanding that any sottlement cade for auch a caso will foll entiroly to the United States Radium Corporation. Should the test case which the United Statos Indius Corpe, is bringing against the insurance companies to establish whotber or not their policios covered, and the proportionate expense to be borne by the carriera respectively, remult in establishing that the policies do cover, the insurence companios mould then reinburse us for the cases which the elect to settle with thoir approval. In case the pointe cs outlined are in accordance with your undorstand- ing, and the sottlement proposed with your approvel, we would approciate
