Jersey City, New Jersey.
Attention of E. A. Markley, Esg.
My dear Mr. Markley:
IN RE: HOARE vs. UNITED STATES RADIUM CORPORATION.
I have your letter of April 23rd. It appears to us that
inasmuch as Doctors Flinn, Schlundt, Brothers and Hum-
phries have all concluded that this is not a true radium
case, together with the fact that the condition has
existed for more than three years, to the knowledge of the
plaintiff, a settlement as substantial as $3,000.00 ought
not to be made.
As far as the Globe Indemnity Company is concerned, they
would authorize the United States Radium Corporation to make
a settlement up to what they figure it would cost to try
the case, which would be from $1,500.00 to $1,800.00.
We would be pleased to hear the result of this proposition.
Very truly yours,
the
