Supplementing our letter of June 16th, and lir. Narkley* letter of
June 16th:
lie are glad to advise you that we have found an employment oard of
lis. Irene Corbey Laporto, which states that she was first employed by us
5/14/17, as inspector, with the notation piece work, which indicates thet ahe
probably was doing painting at that time, bart there is no date stating when this
work was takon up. The card states that she left our employment 12/11/18.

According/the information obtained from LaPorte at the conference hold
in Markley's office on June 13th, Urs. LePorte vas exployed by us in the Spring
of 1917, and worked for approxinately one year, and then was again employed by us
for a matter of a fow wesks during the sumser of 1918.
Our records do not show
where lis. LaPorte was employed by us subsequent to 12/11/18 - however, as we have
previously stated our records are very incomplete and dt is quite possible that
Mrs. LaPorte was put on for o short time during the summer of 1918 to holp out.
LePorte, as you will recall, died June 16,1931, and we have a copy
of the doath cortifiente which is signed by Barrison 3, Eartland, Chief Medioal
Examiner, City Hoapital, Nowark, R.J. le attributes the principal cause of death
to *Occupational Radius Poisoning in Watch Diel Industry, Ostejesic Sarecza of
Pelvis", contributary couso *letastasia to Lungs", Be further states that the
disease or injury was related to occupation of deceased and specified radium dial
peinter.
LaPorte's attorney, Emperglick, was in touch with Markley's
office and advised them that uniess we were interested in settling this case be
was gong to start auit. l'arkloy's office advised him that Ur. Barkley was
away and would not return until Anguat 10th, at which time lir. Warkley would com-
zunicate with Emarglick.
No presune that this natter will come up for attention very shortly now
ask your cooperation in this matter to determine what procedure we shall

few days.
