Mr. H. H. Barker
United States Radium Corporation
535 Pearl Street
New York City
My dear Barker:
I hope that you are having some measure
of success in running down for us some old tubes in
which radium was sealed. Our supply of polonium is
getting very low and we are in dire need of keeping
up this stock for use in an experiment on alpha rays
which is being conducted under the direction of the
Dean of our Graduate School and our Department, work-
ing jointly.
With very good wishes, I remain,
Sincerely yours,
Herman Schlundt
Herman Schlundt.
P. S. I have just had a sample from some ore reported
to have come from Arizona. It was reported to us as a
wonderful source of radium. In many respects it resembles
the sample of black ore which came to us about a year ago
from Oregon. Testing this qualitatively, we find it to
be entirely inactive.
