November 19th,1931. Board of Con missioners, Att'n of City Clerk, City of Orange, Orange, N.J. Gentlenen: Te om the property knom as 412-422 Alden Street, which is located at the corner of High and Alden Streets, Our frontage on Alden Street is approximately 216 and on High St. A portion of our property to the Rest extents back to the railroad siding. We at one time occupied this property in connection with the ex- traction of radium and by-products from crude ores obtained from our mines in Colorado. Te discontinued these operations in 1925, and since 1926 this property has atood idle. About 1926 the nature of our operations were mater- ially changed, in that, instead of producing our own radium from virgin ores we made suitable connections whereby we bought our supply from foreign sources. Our present operations consist of re-working such radium preparations, man- ufacturing of luminous material, such as used on watch and clock dials, the drawing and fabrication of metal parta as used in the manufacture of a line of hotel numbers and signs. l'hesecperations are carried on at the addresse given on our letterhead, which is a building classified for light manufacturing. Tle have also become interested during the past year in the Teksler Thermometer Corporation, a concern engaged in the manufacture and distribution of thermoseters as used by the commercial and industrial trades. The nature of the operations in an industry of this kind are primarily - draving and blowing of glass tubes, the fabrication of metal scales and backs, the finish- ing of such scales and backs, as for example - enameling and spraying. The operations of the Thermometer Corporation are now being esrried on at 438 T, 125th St. N.Y.C. The building is classified for light manfacturing. In view of the fact that our property has been idle for such a prolonged period of time, end that there is one building on the propety which would be ideal in nature for the type of operations which tre are now carrying on, it seems indicated that we should discontinue paying rental on our various locations in New York and occupy our own property. However, we understand that our property has been classified as commercial, and such classification would doubtless prevent us from carrying on the operations which we are now
