Dear Barker:
Thank you for your letter of April 7 and especially for
the samples of adhesive which you were kind enough to send.
I wish to apply phosphorescent zinc sulfide to the inside sur-
face of a round bottom flask. In preliminary experiments, I
had already employed the mechanical method which you describe,
but I am glad to have the most suitable binder for the purpose.
I was much interested in your calculations in regard to
the alpha radiation that might result from drinking water charged
with radon. I am satisfied that your conclusion is correct that
there is not much danger, but nevertheless, the industry will
probably be wrecked by the results in the Byers case since the
public will fail to discriminate between the two kinds of active
water. I have already heard of cases of people who have been
drinking water charged with radon who are terrified at the re-
sults which it may have on their health.
With many thanks and best regards,
Cordially yours,
s. C find
S. C. Lind,
Director.
