UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI COLUMBIA DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY April 26th, 1932. Mr. H. H. Barker United States Radium Corporation 535 Pearl Street New York City APR 29 1932 My dear Barker: One of our radium girls, Miss Katherine Schaub, has made more progress in the world than I had ever anticipated she would. In the May Survey Graphic, p. 138, Miss Schaub writes about her experi- ences and states that she is now writing a book. I am rather surprised that she has made such marked improvement in health. Do you see any way clear by means of which I could make a gamma ray measurement on Miss Fryer, Mrs. Hussman, and Mrs. Larice, the three girls that we hospitalized about a year ago and collected excreta which I later analyzed for radium content. I refer to the work of Dr. Craver and my- self; I have withheld publication of these results because I have no data on the amount of radium these girls now retain in their systems. With very good wishes, I remain, Sincerely yours, Herman Schlundt Herman Schlundt. hs.as
