Dr. Horman Schlundt,
University of Missouri,
Columbia, Mo.
Dear Dr. Schlundt:
Am sorry indeed to learn that the Macey
Foundation are not disposed to extend to you a grant. It is
unfortunate that Dr. Kast does not appreciate the feeling with
regard to the physiology of radium. I am satisfied that Dr.Ewing
did everything possible in your behalf, and I don't believe any
other avenue of approach would have accomplished as much as this one
did.
Dr. Flinn tells me that he has been invited by the
Radium Institute of Berlin to pay a visit to their hospitals during
this dummer, and that he expects to sail for Germany sometime during
August. I am a little bit at a loss to know just exactly what wight
this invitation carries, and the meaning of same. I am inclined
to believe that it is something which Dr. Flinn invited, rather
than something which has cone to him unsolicited.
I hope that Dr. Leake will see fit to extend to
you the loan of his instruments, for I understand that they are
not being used at this time.
Very truly yours,
Vice President.
