ROSENBAUM & MINTZ COUNSELLORS AT LAW FRED J. ROSENBAUM KINNEY BUILDING MAX 1. MINTZ newark, N.J. DEC 22 1932 MARKET 3-1386 December 19th, 1932 United States Radium Corporation 15 Exchange Place, Jersey City, New Jersey In re: O'DELL -vs- U.S. RADIUM CORP. Gentlemen: This office represents Mrs. Rita O'Dell who we are advised by competent physicians, is suffering from chronic radium poison. Mrs. Rita O'Dell was an employee of your Company at your Aldine and High Street plant where she was engaged in the position of "dial painting". Mrs. O'Dell lives at 152 Oak Street, East Orange, New Jersey. We understand that it is generally the policy of your company to provide for and protect those who have sustained this illness as a result of being employed by you. It is with this end in view that I am writing this letter, and would be pleased to have Mrs. O'Dell examined by any one you may suggest to determine the veracity of our claim. Will you please advise us as to whether or not your company is disposed to adjust these cases after having an opportunity to thoroughly investigate same, so that I may be guided in my future conduct in the handling of this matter, I fully realize that there are possibly some legal entanglements involved in the successful prosecution of this type case, and I would urge my clients to accept a fair and reason- able adjustment in the matter. Very truly yours, Rosenbaum & Mintz. by MadMont MIM/EG
