March 15, 1933 Collins & Corbin DEFENDANT: United States Radium Corporation PLAINTIFF: Mrs. Nettie Madlinger, 31 years old, married twelve years, no pregnancies, employed by the above Radium Corporation from 1916 to 1920, she said, steadily and from 1920 to 1924 on and off in the rush period, stating that she usually went to work before the holi- days, etc., when they needed girls and at other times during this period they discharged the married women and kept the unmarried ones at work. She states that January 15, 1929 was the first tine she ever noticed any trouble and that this was in re- lation to her teeth aching and bothering her and that she had general pains throughout her body and could not sleep well. She said that her teeth bothered her by giving her pains all over her face and that they loosened up and that some of them fell out. EXAMINATION: I examined this woman at the office of Dr. Knef, a dentist of Newark, 1025 Broad Street, Newark, March 15, 1933 at 5:30 P. M. This appointment was arranged through the attorney and Dr. Knef, after this woman had disappointed us in New York City, the report of this appointment which you already have. Dr. Knef at first stated he was carrying this woman along, keeping her mouth clean and boosting up her general condition and then later amended this by say- ing he did not want to state what he was doing for her. He, however, says that he has never pulled any of these teeth out by forcep but has lifted them out when they were loose. He also states that on several occa- sions he has scrapped the jaw bone, this being princi- pally in front and the lower jaw on the left side, and that he has no trouble as yet with the upper jaw, excepting that some of the teeth are involved. This woman has two lower left molars, these being the first and the wisdom. She has the right third molar, upper left lateral, upper right first bicuspid, upper six and twelve-year right molars, upper left six year
