June 2, 1933. Dr. James Ewing, Memorial Hospital, Central Park West at 106th Street, New York City. Dear Dr. Ewing: We beg to acknowledge receipt of bills in behalf of Miss Fryer and Mrs. Hussman mailed on May 30. We note on the bill of Miss Fryer from Mosler's Pharmacy a pencil notation to the effect of one visit to the Rockefeller at $2.00 and five visits to Dr. Palmer at $2.00, extended amount $10.00. We are unable to ascertain whether this is intended as a formal bill which we owe Miss Fryer or just what the status is. In the event that such is the case we would suggest that Miss Fryer present a more formal type of bill for such services. We note in Mrs. Hussman's letter of May 11 that she has blood tonic for 25 weeks at $2.00 a week and three bottles of aspirin, total amount $2.75. We are wondering if this blood tonic has been prescribed by the Committee for Mrs. Hussman. This question arose before, and we be- lieve your position was to the effect that unless such medi- cines were definitely prescribed we should not be held re- sponsible for their payment. Very truly yours, Vice-President. HHBarker:RS
