September 11th, 1933.
Dr. Jas. Ewing,
%Memorial Hospital,
New York City.
Dear Dr. Ewing:
We have your letter of September 8th en-
closing bills from Dr. Sumphries and the Homeopathic
Hospital of Essex County. le certainly feel that Dr.
Humphries should cooperate with us in obtaining either
a better rate or a less expensive room for Miss Fryer
at the Homeopathic Hospital in case she will be con-
fined there much longer.
From Dr. Humphries' bill dated September 1st,
the question arises in our mind as to whether Dr. Humphries
is not using us "for a good thing". We observe that on
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of each week during the
month of August Dr. Humphries called on Miss Fryer, but on
the other four days of the week, he did not. While we do
not wish to question the necessity of Dr. Humphries' ser-
vices - still it does seem odd to us that his services
should be required each of three successive days - and the
same days of each week - and the other four days, she
is able to get along without his services.
We know that you agree with us that Dr.
Humphries' bills are somewhat of a problem, and probably
before we are through, we will have to have a better under-
standing with him relative to the necessity of his services
and the fees which he is to charge per visit.
Sincerely yours,
HHBarker:DK
Vice-President
