January 11, 1935. Dr. 8. C. Lind, University of Winnesota, Minneapolis, Minn. Dear Dr. lind: This will acknowledge receipt of your letter of January 2nd with bill for your trip to New Jersey enclosed. lie are at present working on the adjustment of sone financial arrangements relative to the LaPorte case, and as soon as these matters have been agreed upon, check will go forward, which should be within the next two or three weeks. The court proceedings in the LaPorte case were concluded on Thursday, December 27th, at which time the Judge requested that final briefs be subnitted by February 18th, after which of course he can review at hia leisure and render a decision. We are, hovever, hopeful that we will have a finol decision in the natter by June or July. The expert testimony taken after you left vent very well indeed. Dr. Schlundt handled himself very ably, and Dr. Feilla node a very, very good impression upon the court. Due to his connections, the court allowed him to qualify on the medical as well as the physical aspect of the subject, and therefore his testimony was of a broader nature. Tre are of the opinion that the court was very vell impressed with the testimony adduced from Dr. Failla. As regards myself, I had no difficulty with the exception that Mr. picked up your article on the"solubility of radium sulphate and devoted most of his eross examination to your paper. ,however, feel that the matter was handled in such a way that it did not detract from other testimony taken. Mr. Emmerglick tried to introduce the article in evidence, but the court refused to allow him to do ao inasmich as I agreed with the article, and certain extracts from the same had been read in the record. We again wish to thank you for your cooperation in assisting us in this case. lie know that the delay in setting the date caused you considerable inconvenience, and we appreciate your bearing with us in this matter. With our very best wishes, we are, Sinceroly yours, HHBarker: DK Vige-President
