Mrs. Alta it. Gulliver,
U.S. District Court,
Trenton, N.J.
Dear Ars. Gulliver:
ile are herewith enclosing our check for balance
due you in accordence with your bill of February 18th for
final transcript of testimony in the LaPorte case.
Due to our inexperience in transcripte of legal
testimony, wo were of the opinion that we had a credit coming
to us for the daily testimony transcribed, and shile it is
true that there some credit, nevertheleas, the amount was
so small that our first analysis of the situation seemed to
indicate that full credit and not been given us. However,
after discussing the matter with lirs. Bergen and Mr. Markley,
we find that the rules are quite definitely prescribed as to
what legal stenographers are allowed to charge in these mat-
ters, and even though the rates may seeta at times high, se
have no recourse except to pay the bills.
We trust you appreciate that our letter was written
in good faith at the time, even though it was in error on ac-
count of leck of full information on the subject.
Very truly yours,
DK
Vice-President
