Feb. 26, 1937. Dr. G. Failla, Menorial Hospital, Central Park West at 106th St., New York City. Dear Dr. Failla: I have your letter of February 16th and an ashamed to admit that to date I have not found the opportunity to pre- pare the free smanating compound as we have discussed. However, my intentions are still the best, and I hope that within the neit few wecks I shall be able to find time to do this work. In the meantime, I am glad to herewith enclose mano- randum to the effect that we have in our possession tio preparatione containing 11.85 milligrams of radium element. 1 was very much surprised and shocked to hear of the death of your wife, and in this connection please be assured that you have ay very kindest sympathy, as I woll realize shat this loss means to you and the difficulty you vill experience in re- adjusting yourself to the vicissitudes of life without the aid and assistance of one who was as close and helpful to you as I under- stand your wife vas. However, a part of life seens to bs our B- bility to overcome losses and disappointments which,at the moment, seems impossible, but which, with the passing af time we find that these disappointments or losses are in part compensated by other interests which we are able to pick up.
