Columbia Unitersitp College of and Surgeons DE LAMAR INSTITUTE OF PUBLIC HEALTH 600 WEST 168TH STREET NEW YORK April 9, 1940 Mr. C.W. Wallhausen U.S. Radium Corp. 535 Pearl Street New York City, N.Y. Dear Mr. Wallhausen: We have been making tests with the radium plaques and there is no action at all on the bacteria. We do however find a high lethal effect when the milk is exposed to emanation so I guess our radium work using plaques is out. I am sorry that it turned out this way but apparently that is part of the trouble with research work. Yours sincerely, Pindinck B.T.him Frederick B. Flinn Director of Industrial Hygiene.
