the ship "PORT OF BEAUMONT - em loading for expedition,
day and night--see crates of food, etc.piled on dock--ditto equipment
--SCS.of demolished,fully-equipped Beecheraft plane which had been
loaded aboard and then a welded hook broke loose and plane crashed to
deck-completely lost=-var.scs. of girls of Beaumont who took on the
job of training dogs for the expedition--they used the local ice rink
and a Navy CPO Sigmund Gutenko(loaned to the expedition by USN)shous
gals hov--var.scs. of training-egirls and of the Chief,
later on board ship,with ship's flag which had been presented
by
the
Ladies of mikes, (silent)Cdr.and Mgs. Finn Ronne(he
