the Hereford Breeders Association to form a home defense team known as
the Hereford Rough Riders [actually the Highland Hereford Rough
Riders]
-cowboys came in with rifle, horses, Crailers, etc to prove what could be
done for home defense if necessary- they put on a demonstration of
what cooperation could do if needed
