Army base, the Army transport USS JOSEPH V. CONNOLLY
brings the first war dead returned from the European Theatre of Opera-
ions--vars.scs.unloading the flag-draped caskets from ship and placing
them on trucks--take flag off casket--trucks loaded with caskets leave
pier
(more than 6,000 bodies are in the hold of this ship)
